SIP SRST Voicemail (Messages Speeddial Button)

How is the Messages speeddial button configured in SIP SRST to point to the Voicemail DID?  The Voicemail command is available in Voice Register Global "CME" mode but not in "SRST" mode.  The "call-forward b2bua busy & noan" can be configured to point to a Voicemail DID, but there does not appear to be a way to configure the Messages button to access the messages.

Were you able to find a solution for this?

Thank you...

Hi,

Please check the below note;

"Voice Mail number associate with SIP phone message button in SRST is configured by Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), and not configurable by SIP SRST. The administrator needs to know the voice mail number set by CUCM to configure proper dial peer to voice mail system in SIP SRST."

Perfect thanks for the explaination!!

You're most welcome.

Hi,

When the phone goes into SRST mode, it will send its config which was obtained from CUCM to SRST gateway. SRST gateway will create dummy or persistent voice reigster pools (basd on your SRST provisioning mode). These register pools will use the config file received by the phones.

Apart of this configuration will have DNs, Codec, Voice Mail Messages, etc. Hence, you don't need to configure voicemail command in SRST mode (it will automatically work).

The only thing you need to worry about, as Vivek metioned, is reachability from the phone to be able to dial voice mail DN by configuring proper dialpeers/call routing
