Hello
If the site from scratch . You have to do site survey to collect these information
1- Number of users which will supported through your CUCM.
2-numbers of switches which will be POE and if these switches (24 port or 48 ports).
3- The core switches will be the main which will connect all these switches .The connectivity between access switches and core switches ( 1 G or 10 G) , fiber (SM or MM) or utp
4-Based on number of users you will select you will use ( Cisco call manager express solution (router based) or you have a big solution which you will need CUCM server).
4-The number of calls which will be so important to select the connection with your ITSP ( FXO or E1 , etc..).
5- If there any applications required like (Voice mail , presence , contact center , etc..).
6- Dial plan , IP Schema
7- Classfication of calls or type of calls (local , international , national , emergencey , etc..).
8-Who will have the privillige to do calls , for example ( CEO of the site will have privillige to do all types of calls , but secutiy man will have ability to do local call, etc..).
9- How many sites will be used for the CUCM implementation .
10 Is your solution will be centralixed or not?.
many questions you have to ask to build a good solution
Thank you

hello
if the site has already system , maybe Cisco or other vendor (ericsson, avaya , polycom..). You have to make sure form thebelow
1- The requirement of the customer if he will replace the old system with a new susytem, Or he will do integration between the new system and old system .
2- If the running system is cisco , you have to know the running version of CUCM , model number of the Cisco IP phones and the H/W of CUCM , no of the gateways , type of connection to ITSP .
Finally you have to gather allinformation to build a good design which will be so helpful during implementaton.
Thank you

It all comes down to requirements, i.e.

Thanks Chris,
So basically it's a requirement plan to get a site up and running?

I just provided some example of what is involved, in order to build a site you first need to gather the requirements on what is required at the site and how is connected to the reset of the enterprise, etc. It is impossible to have a generic plan for detailed configuration that fits all, there are many, many variables when building a site from voice perspective.
