site getting rid of cucm since its no longer supported

hi, one of our site is getting rid of their cucm since its no longer supported by cisco. so, thinking about few options - using our central cucm cluster but they still wanna keep their site numbers same. pls advise how to do it...im new to this thing

Hi Gavin,

I think one of the best options you can look at right now, is

Multisite WAN with Centralized Call Processing, deployement model.

In brief this would mean that you would register all the phone's at the site to the Central Call Manager Cluster with there existing extensions itself.

You would need to create a new Device Pool for this site and associate all the phones from the site to that particular Device Pool; this would allow you to maintain control over the new site phones as a single entity.

Also if you have a router at the site, if you could configure all required media resources required(conferencing etc) at that site itself, and force the site phones to use them via an MRGL (Media Resorces Group List), it would be great and would save you a lot of Bandwidth(this is not compulsory).

Now a bit more help could be provided if you could elaborate on the connectivity between the site and the call manager cluster(what type, bandwidth.)

i also want to leave their phone numbers as their local numbers. site and call manager cluster are in totally different country. is this possible?

yes that would be possible, but in some countries there is a legal restriction towards sending calls over IP to other countries so just make sure about the same.

Anyways you would simply need to register the phones to the CUCM with the local extensions, just like a normal phone.
