Sure, just create SIP trunk between the systems.  here is an example on how to do that with Lync:

Lync Server 2013 using SIP trunk to Cisco Unified ...

there are many other docs if you google for them.

HI ,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Just need to clear the following

Q-Skype for business client From which server take the Extension (CUCM or Skepe for Business) ?

Q-SIP trunk feature also remain in skype for Businee?

Regards

Debabrata

1. Cisco devices register to CUCM, Skype devices register to Skype for business, then by having SIP trunk integration between the 2 you will be able to make calls back and forth as you will have specific route patterns on each side to match extensions defined on the other side

2. If your PSTN connection is on Skype side then you simply send all external calls from cisco devices via the SIP trunk and allow Skype route them out. You could obviously do it via CUCM if you had proper equipment to connect to PSTN on Cisco side.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing the comment.

if PSTN gateway is in CUCM side It will also work right?

what about the presence function of Cisco phone user with skype for busines client  ?if any user picks up a cisco phone and dial out Can Skype for business client understand the call?

Thanks

Debabrata

Yes, PSTN can be on Cisco side and calls from Lync/Skype can be sent across the SIP trunk to CUCM and then out to PSTN

For presence you need to create federation between Skype and IM/P server (if you have IMP/CUPS deployed).  depending on your versions you may be able to do intra-domain, inter-domain or both, plenty of documents on this on the web as well.

Hi,

Thanks

This means we can not integrate Skype for business client as alternate of Cisco jabberwhere presence functionality needed .In cisco jabber client with cisco phone and presnense will work properly.

If we integrate Skype for business instead of Cisco jabber with presence feature we have to established a bridge communication between CUCM and Skype for Business.(Can you suggest best software)

We can comminicate VOIP/PSTN call between  CUCM and Skype for Business through SIP trunk,It does not matter where the PSTN gateway located.

Thanks

Debabrata.

Correct, Skype client registers with Skype for Business, and Jabber client registers with CUCM for soft phone functionality and with IMP server for presence and IM.

There is no true integration between Cisco and MSFT, there is interoperability only where you manage 2 systems and allow for certain features between them.  This is very common question as customers own both, however collaboration works best with one uniform solution where you have native integrations and functionality.  I have yet seen a completely satisfied customer using both outside of proof of concept.

Hi,

Thanks for your valuable comment.

Yes, you can integrate Skype for Business with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) to enable PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) calling. This typically involves configuring SIP trunks between the two systems, setting up routes in CUCM, and ensuring proper licensing and testing for a successful integration. However, please verify the specific integration steps and requirements based on the latest versions of these platforms, as they may have evolved since my last knowledge update in September 2021.
