SPA942 is compatible with Call Manager express (CME) in cisco router2900 series??

I am assuming it is Linksys SPA942 you are referring to here. CME does not support third party phones as SIP, it will not be supported. Check below link for more:

We can register third party SIP phones with CME however will get only basic calling functionality.

It is not about that you cannot add third party phones to CME. It is about the TAC perspective whether they will support third party SIP phones or not if there are any issues with it when registered with CME. Since they are not listed in the CME compatbiliity document and that is what we follow and recommend to the customers, the support may be a best effort basis or not at all in some cases as well.
So my response was from that point of view becuase it is just not about getting the product to work initially, it is about the after support as well.
