speaker phone cutting out

We recently installed sound masking in our offices and small conference rooms. I am being told that the person sitting in that space using either an 8831 or 7941 on speakerphone has trouble being understood. It seems that the first few words spoken, don't come through to the remote party. I have already:

 

Updated the 8831 to the latest firmware.

Checked that VAD was disabled on the dial peers

Silence Suppression on CUCM System > Service Parameters is set to false also.

 

ADDED NOTE: Just to clarify the "no vad" command is on my voip dial peers but not on the pots dial peers.

 

Is there something else that I should be checking? Any sensitivity setting for the phone's microphone?
