SRST Doubt

Fellows

I got a question if you can help me. We purchase a 2951 router (C2951-CME-SRST/K9) for SRST, we also purchase 225 licenses for this purpose. After this we upgraded the IOS, passing from a c2951-universalk9-mz.SPA.151-4.M1 to c2951-universalk9-mz.SPA.152-1.T1, and after we ran a show version and now says C2951-UNIVERSALK9-M (not C2951-CME-SRST/K9).

My doubt is:

- I have to upload the licenses to the gateway?, and if i have to, how is the procedure?

- Or i lose the SRST capacity with the upgrade of IOS and i have to go back to the original IOS?

Thanks in advance

Regards

Hi there,

When you purchase the 2951 router and see (C2951-CME-SRST/K9) for SRST:

Cisco ISR G2 CME-SRST bundles for the 2900 Series router that come with the entry-level PVDM3, UC technology license, and right-to-use licenses for 25 seats of Cisco Unified CME or SRST

The new device comes with 60 days evaluation licens and changes to "Right to Use".

IOS upgrade needs Reboot and rebooting the device after the evaluation period, will need activation:

Please follow the steps from the below link:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/access/sw_activation/SA_on_ISR.html#wp1155517

++ The above link also has activating evaluation license

Hope the above helps.

Thanks and Regards

Below is more information on ISR2 ( 2900 ) Licensing:

Activating CME-SRST Feature License

#

The ISR G2 comes with a 60-day evaluation license. After 60 days, the license changes to "right to use". The customer is required to pay for the CME-SRST feature license which is valid for 12 years

Evaluation Licenses

#

Evaluation licenses are also temporary, and you use them to evaluate a feature set on new hardware

#

You obtain evaluation licenses from the Cisco licensing portal: https://tools.cisco.com/SWIFT/Licensing/PrivateRegistrationServlet?DemoKeys=Y

#

Note You must go to the Cisco Product License Registration portal prior to the expiration of the evaluation license to upgrade the license status.

So, ultimately you will need to order the SRST feature and then load the corresponding license key PAK when received.

Licensing functionality is working as per design here.

Cme-srst licenses are honor based and hence you have to just accept the EULA.

After the 60 days of EvalRightToUse the license will change to "right to use" for 12 years Licensing functionality is working as per design here.
