Suppress connected/redirected number display?

Hi All,

We have an issue at the moment whereby we have modified our CUCM 8.5 to always display the redirected number as per the below

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/voice-unified-communications/unified-callmanager-version-42/99463-ccm-line-id.html

However, in some cases we do NOT want to display the redirected number.  We have some VIP's working for us that like to have all calls to their mobile's screened by their PA's.  The PA can then transfer internal callers through to their mobile.

However, the problem we have is that as soon as the person is put through to the mobile number, their "connected party" display updates to the mobile number that they have been put through to.

The VIP's do not want people to be able to see their mobile number; However there are other reasons that I won't go into that prevent us from turning on the "always display originally dialled number" service parameter.

thanks for any thoughts and suggestions of how we could achieve this behavior. It is important that we keep the redirected number display for MOST calls, but we need to be able to suppress it for a small amount of calls too.

Thanks

Carl

Here's a couple of options:

Set up single number reach for the manager using a dummy extension that the PA can forward the calls to.  Callers will only see the internal dummy extension in this case.

A more elegant option is to use connected party transforms on all the phone device pools.  Set up a transform per VIP number and mask it to something else such as the PA's extension.   This would mean that the PA's themselves see the masked number when dialling the VIP, so if this is too confusing for them they could be moved to a new device pool without the transform applied.
