Sync DND on Deskphone with CUP Presence

We use jabber to control our deskphones. Is it possible to sync your Jabber (XMPP) Presence with your deskphone DND status - i.e. if you toggle DND on your desk phone then your jabber presence is toggled between Red and Green?

No, that sync only works from Jabber towards the phone, not the other way around.

Dam that sucks.  Is there anyway at all to control your jabber presence using your handset (which is controlled by jabber)?  I think staff would be much more inclined to toggle their jabber presence status if they could push a physical button on their desk phone...

That might be possible, but would require custom scripting to create a service that would do that.
