T1 CAS issue on MGCP gw

Hello everyone

We are implementing a CUCM ver 10.5 platform.

This Ip telephony system uses a cisco 2901 ver Version 15.3(3) as voice gateway to access PSTN and another company's Telephony system (I will call it "companyB").

To get access to companyB's Telephony system, we configured our router as MGCP gateway connected to other Cisco 2901 router through a CAS T1 connection ( using 12 channels)

Here is the configuration we implemented on our router:

!
isdn switch-type primary-ni
!
!
controller T1 0/0/0
 cablelength long 0db
 ds0-group 0 timeslots 1-12 type e&m-wink-start
 description VOICE T1 to companyB
!
!
!
voice-port 0/0/0:0
 auto-cut-through
 output attenuation 3
!
!
ccm-manager mgcp
!
mgcp
mgcp call-agent CUCM 2427 service-type mgcp version 0.1
mgcp rtp unreachable timeout 1000 action notify
mgcp behavior rsip-range tgcp-only
mgcp behavior comedia-role none
mgcp behavior comedia-check-media-src disable
mgcp behavior comedia-sdp-force disable
!
mgcp profile default

.

.

We configured this MGCP gateway on our CUCM but when we tested this connection we don't get registration of this circuit on our CUCM.

On router we see that mgcp is UP, but we are unable to activate the 12 T1 CAS ports as "MGCP endpoints".

Although when we run: "sh voice port 0/0/0:0" on router we see this output:

Router#sh voice port 0/0/0:0

recEive and transMit Slot is 0, Subslot is 0, Sub-unit is 0, Port is 0
 Type of VoicePort is E&M
 Operation State is DORMANT
 Administrative State is UP

Could you please tell me is I am misconfiguring or missing something for this connection?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advanced

Can you post the output of below command:

sh ccm-manager

1) mgcp call-agent CUCM 2427 service-type mgcp version 0.1 <<< Have you configured ip address where you have typed CUCM, if not try that

2) Have you configured the device name/domain correctly?

3) Make sure you have below command under your serial interface:

"isdn bind-l3 ccm-manager"

4) Also I would suggest bind MGCP to the interface which can reach CUCM:

mgcp bind control source-int Gx/y

mgcp bind media source-in Gx/y

Once you are done with the configs, type in no mgcp, mgcp

Let me know how you go with above.

Thanks for answering.

Here you have:

MyRouterw#sh ccm-manager
MGCP Domain Name: MyRouterw.grupogloria.corp
Priority        Status                   Host
============================================================
Primary         Registered               CUCM (192.168.118.12)
First Backup    None
Second Backup   None

Current active Call Manager:    192.168.118.12
Backhaul/Redundant link port:   2428
Failover Interval:              30 seconds

Last MGCP Fallback end time:    None
MGCP Download Tones:            Disabled
TFTP retry count to shut Ports: 2

FAX mode: cisco

My new mgcp config:

ccm-manager mgcp
!
mgcp
mgcp call-agent PRSDSJ118012 2427 service-type mgcp version 0.1
mgcp rtp unreachable timeout 1000 action notify
mgcp bind control source-interface GigabitEthernet0/0.118
mgcp bind media source-interface GigabitEthernet0/0.118
mgcp behavior rsip-range tgcp-only
mgcp behavior comedia-role none
mgcp behavior comedia-check-media-src disable
mgcp behavior comedia-sdp-force disable
!
mgcp profile default

!

dial-peer voice 1 pots
service mgcpapp
port 0/0/0:0

!

I did "no mgcp/mgcp" commands but the gateway keeps in a "Rejected" state on my CUCM.

I run  "debug mgcp packet: and here is the output:

May 29 12:56:27.458: MGCP Packet received from 192.168.118.12:2427--->

Thanks again !!!!

Kindly paste a snapshot of your port and gateway config cucm side.

Hi,

In logs ,I can see MyRouter.mydomain.com and show ccm-manager shows MGCP Domain Name: MyRouterw.grupogloria.corp.

can u share the snapshot of config from Call manager as asked by moyo?

regds,

aman

Hi Terry, moyo oyegunle and Aman Soi!!!

Thanks for your interest.

The root cause was a mistype on "dial-peer voice 1 pots"

dial-peer voice 1 pots
service mgcpap <------ ERROR instead of proper command: "service MGCPAPP"
 port 0/0/0:0
!

AFTER this change the gateway got registration and we start to call with this gateway!!!

I selected Terry answer because I have not configured recommended commands.

THANKS AGAIN

Enrique Villasana

Good problem got resolved.

thanks for update.

regds,

aman

No worries, thanks for the update - actually I was going to add the step to confirm the dial-peer step as well but got distracted and somehow missed that. Anyways see you around.
