TESTING CISCO VIC2-2FXO CARD

Please I have this vic2-2fxo card that I want to run a quick test on before taking them to site but I am having problem testing them,I have been to the cisco website but no joy,I am using cisco 2811,pvdm installed with the correct ios but still unable to test them,I am able to test vic2-2fxs,any help will be highly appreciated,

How are you testing them?

Do they show up in "sh inventory" and "sh diagnostics"?

Hi,

Adding to what Chris mentioned, you can use show voice port summary to see port status. Also, try to shutdown the port and check of the LED is off and the status of the port using the same command.

Configure a test dialpeer using this port and use csim start command to initiate a test call. Then enable the debugs and see what is happening.

Thanks for your response,I can see the card on show inventory and show diag.

Please I want to be able to test the vic2-2fxo card by originating a call them.Please do you have any simple config that i can use to test only the vic2-2fxo,I am able to test vic2-2fxs by creating dialing peers and originating call through them with pvdm installed.

Hi,

Do you have another router to connect the FXO port and do the testing. You need to connect FXO port to another router or directly to telco in order to perform testing.

Hi,

You need to connect both router using RJ11 cable. The configure a simple dialpeer with .T to send all calls out of the FXO port.

You can enable debug voice ccapi to check if the port is working

Thanks for your quick response  once again,I will implemented as stated on your mail and let you know how it goes.

Just a quick question,I have tested vic2-2fxs by configuring dial peer with pvdm installed and it work fine,Please can I use the same  dial peer configuration to test the vic2-2fxo, also when installed vic2-2fxs gives tone but vic2-2fxo do not give tone.

I am testing them base on the setup i saw on cisco website since I am new to this,I have two routers both have pvdm install on them,I have both vic2-2fxs and vic2-2fxo installed on the router,I then configured dial peers and tried to originate a call between the router but it give me an engaging tone.
