Hello,

Has anyone ever managed to enable EHS feature in CME for SIP phones? I use 7821 phones.

Google gives up about that :)

Thank you!

Regards,

Rafal

Can you try below:

voice register global pool X

feature-button X flash

You can configure this under voice register template as well and apply the template to all phones.

Router(config-register-pool)#feature-button 1 ?
Cfwdall   Call forward all (N/A on 99xx and 8961 phones)
ConfList  ConfList (N/A on 99xx and 8961 phones)
Confrn    Conference (N/A on 99xx and 8961 phones)
  DnD       Do not Disturb
EndCall   End call (N/A on 99xx and 8961 phones)
  Gpickup   Group Call Pick Up
Hold      Hold (N/A on 99xx and 8961 phones)
  Meetme    Meetme
  Mobility  Mobility
NewCall   New call (N/A on 99xx and 8961 phones)
  Park      Call Park
  Pickup    Call Pick Up

Have this flash anything in common to EHS...?

Rafal.

Rafal - my bad I guess while looking documents mixed hook flash with hook switch.

I did go through the CME CLI but no hint anywhere.

Rob my friend thanks for the rating and sharing the documents (+5)

Hi Rafal,

Just to add a note to the good tips from my friend Terry (+5 "T")

Here is some more info from Marcos @ Cisco;

https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/37251/wireless-headset-remote-hookswitch-control-cme-and-uc500

And this info from the Plantronics knowledge base;

http://www.plantronics.com/au/support/kb/detail.jsp?vfurl=/articles/en_US/How_To/APC-41-and-APC-42-How-to-Enable-Wireless-Hookswitch-Control-Feature-on-Cisco-7800-and-7900-Series&retURL=%2Farticles%2Fen_US%2FHow_To%2FCalisto-P620-How-to-Update-the-Firmware&region=au&p=4&c=All&k=&t=&lang=en_US&popup=false

Cheers!

Rob

Hello Rob,

Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately Marcos described EHS in telephony service - not in voice register global. I got 7821 and I cannot force it it use sccp :)

Or can I somehow force it to use EHS setup from telephony service?

Thank you,

Rafał

Thank You Rob and Terry for the documents.

I can see that 7821 IP Phones are never mentioned there.

The problem is that they are SIP Phones.

Whenever 78XX series IP Phones are mentioned, Cisco documents mention process to enable EHS in CUCM and never in CME.

Whenever ehookswitch enable option is mentioned in Cisco docs for CME configuration, they always talk about SCCP configurations.

Whenever Cisco document mention "features" of 7821 IP Phones, they say that EHS option is available (they do not mention that it is not available in CME).

Hence we are in a confused state regarding how to enable this option for a SIP Phone like 7821 in CME.

Has anyone found an answer yet ?

can telephony-service configurations affect SIPxxx.xml files to enable this kind of vendor configuration phone services ? If not, can we manually change SIP phone configuration xml files to make this feature active ?

Regards,

Aman

Has anyone found away to do this with CME and 7800 series phones.  I am facing the same issue and cannot find anything that shows it is supported for SIP phones on CME.

Thanks,

Rob.
