Hey Guys,

I'm wanting to change a incoming number block to another internal range on a h313 gateway.

Example

Incomming

change

12345XXX

to

12346XXX

then swap it around for out going

123456XXX

to

12345XXX

Would this be correc for incomming ?

Voice translation-rule 1

rule 1 /^12345/ /12346/

I guess for out going the transformations in call manager will sort that

Thoughts?

cheers,

Alan

Hi Alan,

The translation rule that you have created is absolutely correct to translate the number 12345XXX to 12346XXX. You can check the voice translation rules configured on your router with the test command as follows

PSTN#test voice translation-rule 1 12345001
Matched with rule 1
Original number: 12345001       Translated number: 12346001
Original number type: none      Translated number type: none
Original number plan: none      Translated number plan: none

For the reverse process you can use an external phone number mask as 12345XXX on the line configuration page or on the route pattern according to your design and let the caller id for outbound calls work as well.

For the incoming translation-rules to work, apply the rule to a translation profile to change the called number and then apply the profile on the inbound dial-peer or incoming voice-port.

Check the doc for translation rules
