Two diffierent results when dialling the same number .

Hi all, I have a customer in Dubai and when they dial 0096525728040 for the gateway, the call rings out . When you ring the same number from your mobile you get an IVR . The Call Manager version is 6.1.4.2190-3. The gateway is H323. Any assistance would be great .

Hi,

Is 0096525728040 the number that is actually dialled or does it include an off net access code?

If it is the actual number it looks like it could be an international call to Kuwait - is that right?

I would use CUCM Dialled Number Analyzer and debug isdn q931 on the gateway to check exactly what is being sent out when this string is dialled and make sure that it is the same as is entered on the mobile.

I would guess that the ISDN link and mobile service are from different providers so there could be different dialling privileges applied. If it is an international call could the mobile be barred from making international calls? - you do not state what the IVR says so I assume that it may be in a langauge that you do not speak.

Hope this helps

Likely you have a misconfiguration, are you famiilair/certified for configuring CM and gateways, if not you best choice would be to involve a reputable consultant, or certified Cisco partner.

HI Paolo , thank you for your reply . I have plenty of experience in Call manager and Cisco router configuration . Are you suggesting is might be a misconfiguration in either. This is teh only number that has been reported so far.

Hi James, thanks for the email . The number is indeed Kuwait , the IVR is for an insurance company .

The following is the output from the isdn debug :

        Bearer Capability i = 0x8090A3

                Standard = CCITT

                Transfer Capability = Speech

                Transfer Mode = Circuit

                Transfer Rate = 64 kbit/s

        Channel ID i = 0xA9839E

                Exclusive, Channel 30

        Calling Party Number i = 0x2181, '042317800'

                Plan:ISDN, Type:National

        Called Party Number i = 0x81, '0096525728040'

        Cause i = 0x8481 - Unallocated/unassigned number

        Progress Ind i = 0x8488 - In-band info or appropriate now available

058786: Mar  5 16:36:33.250: ISDN Se0/0/0:15 Q931: call_disc: PI received in disconnect; Postpone sending RELEASE for callid 0x8F79

058787: Mar  5 16:36:56.883: ISDN Se0/0/0:15 Q931: RX <- SETUP pd = 8  callref = 0x00E6

        Sending Complete

        Bearer Capability i = 0x8090A3

As the call is breaking out etc . this would suggest that there is an issue with the Remote Switch ?
