Hi,
we want to connect a Siemens Hicom 300E with the Cisco CUCM 8.5, we need two QSIG-Trunks, each trunk ends on one of two Cisco 2901 with VWIC3-2MFT-T1/E1. The port for each trunk is on one of the E1-Ports.
I configured both ends the same as the other.
The QSIG variant ist ECMA v1.
The problem is that the realiability on one of those trunks are very poor, one link periodically loses the Layer 2 connectivity.
We have no Layer 1 problems, everything is measured.
We exchange everything, cable, ports, router E1-Ports and siemens-ports, also between themselves ( the problem is not situated on one router or E1-Port, if you change to the other the problem move on.
The siemens technician found no config problem on his side, but he has also Layer 2 problems on one trunk.
What might be the problem?
Thanks a lot

it seems to be a problem with the clocking, but im not sure what the correct clocking is, it might be a configuration "issue" on the siemens side.
Has anybody experience or best practices in connecting multiple spans from Siemens Hicom 300E to Cisco?
Thanks a lot

Hi,
"Does the hicom clock from the pstn?"
i will ask the technician, the last statement was that the hicom set the clock, but im not sure if that means automatically pstn.

Hi,
This router is taking its clock from the HICOM
Config looks OK
network-clock-participate wic 0
network-clock-select 1 E1 0/0/1
I would add
!
network-clock-select 2 E1 0/0/0
!
Now if the 0/0/1 interface fails then the 0/0/0 will become the clock source.
HTH

Hi,
thanks for your reply.
The E 0/0/0 is currently not in use, i will add that statement if the port goes up.

Hicom clocks from pstn

The latest information about the pbx config is that both qsiq work like a bundle, they can't
separate the qsiq, because the same call routing from pbx to another pbx can only be situated exactly on one or a bundle of trunks.

by the way, the problem is solved. It was a defect at the Siemens PBX
