UC 10 licensing - Anonymous (public/shared space)

Hi all,

I have a number of phones which are not under any users.    I try to provision the UC10 licensing.

Any advice to allocate these phones to what users?  Should I just put them under owner anonymous(public/shared space) ?

or just assign a dedicated user for these phones?

Also quick questions here.

. one port of VG224 will use one UCL essentials/enhanced license?

. one phone under anonymous owner, does it need one UCL essentials/enhanced license ??

environment: CUCM 10.5

Your advice and help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Master001

Hi,

Depends on what all IP phone models you are using.

like 3905/6901 -Essential UCL

6911/6921consume Basic UCL license.

7900 series ,8900 series 6941,6945 ,990 series consume UCL Enhanced, third party SIP devices,

SX20/C40 consume TP licenses.

If we do map Owner User ID , then license consumption would increase like if a single person has got more than 2 phones [Jabber for Windows,Jabber for Android and Hardphone] then, if owner user id is used, CUWL std license would be consumed else it would be UCL enhanced three numbers.

Adding to Aman unless you have CUWL Standard or Professional licenses, the maximum number of devices you will be able to associate with a particular end user is only limited to 2 using Enhanced Plus UCL licenses. You will require 1 Essential license per Analog device connected to VG224.

One phone without assigned to any user will use 1 Essential/Enhanced based on phone type and even you if assign this phone to an end user still only 1 license will be required.
