UC560 phone 7965 expansion module 7916

Hello,

I have to add a 7916 expansion module to a 7965 phone on a UC560. What firmware do I need on the UC560 to support this module? I  saw mention of B016-1-0-2.sbn here http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/requirements/guide/c... . But can't find it to download.

The UC560 is running software Version 15.0(1)XA and Cisco Unity Express version (8.0.3)

In cisco.com search box, enter 7916. Then select "Software Results" tab.

Paolo.... Thank you. All the documentation I see has instructions for installing the firmware using Call Manager or CUCM. I'm not using either. Do you know of the procedure for IOS on UC500 series? Thanks for your help.

You download the .zip file - it contains firmware only.

Hello... It seems I need this file 7916/B016-1-0-4.SBN in TFTP on the uc560. Can anyone offer some guidance on how to get it? Thanks.

You must download phone loads. Login to the support page and download software for UC560.

Here is the link. This includes CUE, IOS, Localization Files and Phone loads.

Find 7916 inside the phoneloads.

Murat ... thank you. I actually downloaded and installed the file on Tuesday. Here are the steps:

1. FTP copy

2. mkdir flash:/phones/7916/

3. copy flash:/B016-1-0-4.SBN flash://phones/7916/B016-1-0-4.SBN

4. telephony-service

load 7916-24 B016-1-0-4.SBN

5. ephone  19

  type 7965 addon 1 7916-12

However, the user reported it´s still not working and I have to do further research. Unfortunately the system is in Sao Paulo, Brazil and I´m in New York causing a delay in testing and reporting back.

You are likely missing the tftp-server command.

Paolo.. I have it - tftp-server flash:/phones/7916/B016-1-0-4.SBN - just forgot to add to my list above. The user sent me a picture of the module as it is now - it is displaying the Cisco logo screen and the buttons are lighted. I think the Cisco logo screen is supposed to go off and the buttons go off after the firmware download.

So does that mean it's not getting the firmware? How can I troubleshoot the issue?

That not enough, you need an alias with the firmware filename alone.

You would see the failure with "debug tftp-event".

Moreover if you keep firmare images in root directory, you can take advanatage of the automatic tftp-server features.

That doesn;t cover a module firmware, but only saves the alias command.

Below is the ephone output - max lines is 18 which suggests the module is recognized. Normal max lines is 6.
