Unable to configure voice-service dsp-reservation on cisco 2911

Hello Experts 

 

Unable to configure voice-service dsp-reservation under voice-card 0

i am not able to see the option at all 

 HQ-Router(config-voicecard)#?
Voice-card configuration commands:
  codec         Manage codec configuration parameters for voice card
  default       Set a command to its defaults
  dsp           Manage DSP configuration for the voice card
  dspfarm       Enable dspFarm feature for this voice card (command will be deprecated in future releases, use the new command 'dsp
                tdm pooling')
  exit          Exit from voice card configuration mode
  local-bypass  Enable TDM hairpinning
  no            Negate a command or set its defaults

and more over  i have pvdm 3-16 on this router and using only 4 channels of the pri . will i will be able to configure 1 video conference with 2 party .

2. sh sccp

 

I guess you have only PVDM-3 16 and all have been used already.

Strange..

Could you please show us the Lic type on the router? It may be on IP Basic and not enabled for the Unified Communications.

I think you may need more than 1 PVDM-3-16, as per the following document you cannot share the Cores between Voice and Video (i.e. fragmented cores).

 

Here is the excerpt:

There are some limitations for the allocation of PVDM3 for IPSLA VO that the user needs to be aware of. PVDM3 is reserved on the router using the IOS® command below:
voice-card 0
voice-service dsp-reservation <percentage>
#The above is for voice while the remaining DSP resources will be used for Video
IPSLA VO presently cannot use fragmented cores. A fragmented core is one that is allocated for both voice and video. This needs to be taken into consideration when procuring/provisioning PVDM3.

Hi RR,

 

Could you also share the "sh run" and " sh inv" for exact calculation. PVDM3-16 should not be enough for configuring video conference even only 4 PRI channels are consumed as per DSP calculator.

Dear

you cant have video conference with PVDM 3-16

you should have PVDM3-128 or Above
