Hi i am new to cisco, just learning, we had cucm 8.6 implemented with 7942 phones. today we are unable to dial out.  when we pick up the handset we get the dialtone, when we press the out going line that is 8 for us we get the outgoing dialtone, but when we try to dial out any outside numbe rwe get a busy tone.  and when someone tries to call our main number it says " Unable to dial at this time please try again later".. internal extension to extension is working fine.

please help dont know where to look.  already restarted the CUCM 8.6 but still no luck.

phones registered fine post restart.

Thanks

What type of signaling are you using for the voice gateway in which the PRI is connected? MGCP or H323.

issue the following command on the gateway

show isdn status

You should see the state as follows:

State = MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED

If not you have a cabling issue or your provider is having a circuit issue.

Various things. Check CSS. Check the route pattern your dialing. Run a debug on the gateway What kind of connectivity to PSTN? FXO? PRI? SIP?

Hi we have a PRI, i have checked the CSS and route pattern they are fine. everything was working fine suddenly we started getting busy.

What type of signaling are you using for the voice gateway in which the PRI is connected? MGCP or H323.

show isdn status

It was a provider related issue they just confirmed, they had an outage at their CO.

Thanks

Layer 1 is down, make sure the controller is not shutdown, and that a live circuit is connected to the port. If all checks out OK, then do a loopback test to make sure the port is not at fault.
