Unable to hear incoming calls

HI,

I have H323 Voice gateway and CUCM 7. Everything is working fine and i can call outside but when i call inside and i press 0 for the operator or any extension then i cant hear and on the other side (extension) no more ring but there is no sound too. Kidnly suggest what could be the problem.

when i call from pstn to inside. i cannot hear any thing. When i dial internal AA pilot number and press 0 after hearing greeting message then i can hear the voice of other.

If i call outside to pstn then i can talk two way.

I have created tranlation pattern which is forwarding my main line (last three digit 999 to AA pilot number)

If you can reach the phone's webpage (put it's IP address into a browser, which indicates web access is enabled on the phone) place a call where you are getting no way audio and click on the "Stream 1" option on the phone's webpage (this would be the internal IP phone).  Check what the remote port and IP address are it should be the gateway, but could be something else if there is a transcoder/MTP in the call flow.  Then on the gateway again while the same call is still up, run "show call active voice brief" or "show call active voice stats" to confirm that the TX and RX counters are incrementing.  Also refresh the internal IP phone's webpage for Stream 1 to make sure the same TX and RX counters are incrementing.  If they are not try and ping between the IP addresses the call is established between to check connectivity.  If the ping works the next thing I would do is setup a packet capture to make sure the RTP r isn't being blocked by anything in the network.

thnx for ur reply...let me tell something that "Media termination point required" option is unchecked on gateway webpage in CUCM 7. Do i need to check that option.

Secondly when i create translation pattern for some extension ( im by-passing CUE ) like rule 1 /^2021999/ /2222/ before i was having rule 1 /^2021999/ /cue pilot number/ then i can hear the sound.

I think there is problem with CUE settings or "Media termination point required" option....pls suggest.

Can you please post "debug voip ccapin inout" command while trying making call from PSTN to inside for both working and not working scenarios? And also, your gateway configuration excluding sensitive info.

This will help to quicky pinpoint the issue.

Thanks for sharing the inputs.

I am not able to trace the root cause with these logs as well. But, I have seen the called number as 9913 instead of 9916. I guess you have configured 9913 as a member of 9916 AA group but it's still selecting dial-peer 9916 which is routing to CUCM Pub.

Anyhow, let me try to re-look into your logs tomorrow.

Problem has been fixed. I just checked tha media termiantion point required option under gateway webpage of CUCM 7. Its started wroking. Thanks all for your support.

Could you please specify that How you pointing out that the 'media termination point' causing the issue?

what are the troubleshooting steps that I need to be taken to fix this issue?
