Unable to Hold, Transfer & Conference while PSTN call

Hi All,

We're migrating from CM5 to CUCM8.6, i noticed that phones that have been migrated to CUCM8.6 were unable to Hold, Transfer or Add to Conference while in a PSTN call. We're using H.323 gateway and CUCM MTP.

Our VG config;

Hi Mohd. Hidzwan,

Glad to hear hold and transfer are now working after unchecking MTP (still dont know why you had it checked to begin with). Looks like you uploaded the CTI Manager trace file. I require the detailed CUCM SDI trace files which cover the test call. Considering that only conference calls are failing, are you able to place a conference call internally i.e. all 3 parties are IP phones? Did you make sure that the conference media resource is added to the MRG/MRGL of the IP phones and gateway config page?

Regards,

Harmit.

Hi Mohd. Hidzwan,

Why are you using MTP for these calls? Do you get an error when you try to do a hold / transfer / conference or does the call drop? Can you provide detailed CUCM SDI and SDL traces for one such call where hold / transfer / conference fails along with the call details and timestamp of the call?

Regards,

Harmit.

Ok. Now i've unchecked the MTP required in Gateway Configuration page. Now i'm able to use Hold & Transfer. However, once i press Conference it prompt No Conference Bridge.

Please find attached log per request. I tried the call between extension 5756 and mobile phone 0176065415. It should be last call from the logs

Thanks Harmit,

Yes it seems the root cause came from media resource configuration. After further investigation and verification, we managed to solve it. Thanks a lot.

My pleasure! Glad to know that did the trick! :-)

Happy New Year!

Regards,

Harmit.
