Hi,

In the debug, the router disconnects the call. to isolate call inofrmation requirement, please do another test call with an actual phone. Also, please use "debug voice ccapi inout" and post the results.

i can't test with an actual phone right now but i will tomorrow. if this helps any, i got a debug using csim again:

Hi,

thanks for the info; could you add the following command inside interface Serial0/0/0:23 and make another csim call with debug voice ccapi inout and debug isdn q931.

isdn send-alerting

isdn sending-complete

regards,

thanks paul for all the help. it looks like its the same thing. i'm trying to convert from mgcp to h323. the call looks almost the same when it goes through mgcp (when configured for it) but continues on and doesn't stop where this q931 debug stops. i know it has to be something simple that i'm not putting correctly.

Hi,

I believe you're config should work in a normal h323-pstn call. If this doesn't work out using an actual phone, I suggest you change the IOS and try a few test calls.

regards,

I tried it today but it still didn't work. Any other ideas?

I feel like it has to do with the isdn type primary-dms100. That's the way it was configured in cucm and it was working. I converted another gateway either and that one worked fine but that one was primary-ni2.

Maybe there is an extra command somewhere I have to put in..

Hi,

If i may clarify,

CUCM - mgcp - Router (isdn switchtype primary-dms100) - PSTN = not working?

CUCM - h323 - Router (isdn switch type primary-dms100) - PSTN = not working?

CUCM - h323 - Router ( isdn switchtype primary-ni2) - PSTN = working?

If it is working in CUCM - mgcp and uses primary dms100, you can use a different switch type in router h323 like the primary-ni2 since it works fine on that

Sorry Paul, let me clarify.

This was configured in cucm as an mgcp gateway. I am converting it to h323. Calls using MGCP were working great but I haven't had much success with it working in h323.

Honestly, I haven't tried it from an actual phone. I've only used csim. I don't want it to be down tomorrow morning. I may just have to let people try it.

I can tell you right now using CSIM start as any sort of reliable test of whether its working or not is a bad idea.   I have been burnt so many times by the lack of that command working in certain areas, I stopped using it all together.

Don't use csim start for troubleshooting!!!!

Well, i'm using it because it should work as it always has worked. i'm using it to verify that the pri can handle outbound calls. i've used this test alot and it has been pretty reliable. I guess i'm going to assume its working and if it doesn't work tomorrow I'll reload the old config since I didn't delete it from cucm.

Is there a reason you can load a CIPC and test with a real phone?  happy to help troubleshoot if its still not working... but csim start is an unreliable test im sorry to say.

Chad

Hi, you can use an h323 phone instead. try ephony . Sometimes, csim start helps depends on the situation.

post your entire configuration and screenshot cucm please.

Chad

Also please do a

show isdn status on the router.
