I created a test System Distrobution List with a couple of IT users as members then setup a Call handler to redirect the user to the Broadcast Administrator and under the Message Settings for this CH I chose to have message recipients to be that test DL.
We tried to send the BM as a test to the inteded recipients but insted of going to just that DL, it went to all the users.
Thoughts as to why this happened?

Hi Julien,
If you set the user to redirect to the Broadcast Message Admin then the message recipient
becomes a moot point, because the CH can't do both. On the CH Greeting page (whatever is active)
look at the after greeting action and it's an either/or not bothtype option.
Once you got into the Broadcast Message Admin area whatever message you were trying to send to the Ottowa DL actually became a Broadcast message.
My reference to keep it hidden is just that you don't want many people to have access
as the Broadcast admin is a powerful tool considering the message is sent to all users.
Cheers!

Hi Julien,
The Broadcast Administrator shouldn't need to be part of this
equation. On the new call handler greeting set for take message and then edit
the message settings to set the Ottawa test DL as the message recipients
and you should be good to go
Cheers!
Rob
PS: keep that Broadcast admin hidden as much as possible as you can see the
results. This is also why when testing never use expletives

Thanks for the input but can it be explained why the message was sent to all users even if the message recipient chosen was the test DL?
Not sure what you mean about keeping it hidden. Care to explain?

Thanks for the info.
The BM is actually just given to certain users. Nobody else can access the the BM Admin.
Thanks again,
