Hi,
I have a 7845H2 with 4GB ram. I am installing the Unity bundle from Cisco. This is Windows 2003 Standard and Exchange 2003, then Unity 7. I will have 200 Unity ports (max ports). This is a standalone box with no failover and message store on box. AD and DNS are on a separate server.
The Unity documentation says that when you have more that 96 ports to add the /3GB keyword to the WinOS boot.ini file.
However, when I boot into Win2003 the OS only recognises 3.25GB of system memory. I've found that by adding the keyword /PAE to the boot.ini file all the memory is recognised by the OS. However, Exchange now has a problem.
MSExchangeSA fails to start and since MessageStore is dependent on this, this fails too = system unusable. When I remove the /PAE switch then everything boots correctly but only 3.25GB of RAM is available. Also, a message "the memory settings for this server are not optimal for Exchange" is written to event viewer.
Please advise on how I can resolve this?
Thanks,
