HI,
Can someone shed some light how it is recommended considering the reliability and Cisco support wise. I have one requirement from one of our clients. The Unity licenses that i received is actually for MCS, not UCS.

Hi
I am not sure about your query. But you can Run Unity on UCS and is supported by Cisco TAC.

And About license you will have to get new license for UCs box as they will use different MAc address as compared to MCS box.

Hi
Yes you are correct.
VMware hardware is not supported by Cisco, only Unity part on it is supported.
Also we have not released OVA template for the Unity, Customers has to created virtual machine manually.

Hi Ronak,
THanks for the link. I found the below quote from one of the cisco doc. Guess the VMware hardware is not supported by Cisco and there is no template to create the VM machines like other UC applications.
"Also note that to virtualize Cisco Unity messaging, there is an additional support burden. Customers
provide the hardware, VMware ESX software, and Microsoft Windows Server software, and are
responsible for coordinating support for these components, including provisioning and performance
troubleshooting.
Customers who are unwilling to take on such support may be better candidates for deploying
Cisco Unity messaging on physical servers." Below is the link
