Unity does not pickup when CM Publisher is down

                   Hello,

running Unity Connection 8.6 with CM 8.6.  VM ports show registered to Publisher but Unity will not answer calls (or possibly takes too long) when the CM Publisher is off-line.  Any ideas on what might be wrong?

Hi Scott,

Can you check these settings in CUC for the "Secondary" server config. This would add the Sub

to the list of available CUCM servers

Step 32 On the Edit Servers page, do the following substeps if the Cisco Unified CM cluster has secondary servers. Otherwise, skip to Step 33.

##

a. Under Cisco Unified Communications Manager Servers, click Add.

##

b. Enter the following settings for the secondary Cisco Unified CM server and click Save.

Thanks Rob,

both Pub and Sub are already listed.

Thanks Rob,

I thought I had waited for longer than that but can check this weekend to make sure.

Hi Scott,

Well that's a great start You know.....this takes 2 to 3 minutes

to "fail over" in our environment, it's probably the same for you. Have

you waited that long in your testing? I've never found a way to speed up the process.

Cheers!

Hi Scott,

You are most welcome my friend

Please get back to us after your testing and let us know how

it went. You may want to tweak the settings during your "maintenance"

window to make the Sub the first choice followed by the Pub (best practice)

Cheers!
