It's fairly basic upgrade. Download the files, run the files. The server will need to be rebooted, so schedule downtime.
Also, you will need install the SP1 for 4.04 or go to 4.0.5 with SP1. It helps alot.
Its not tough at all... takes about an hour.
Remember:
- before you start, pull a drive in the Unity server. This will server as your backup in case something goes wrong. You can shutdown, move the drive and reboot and you will be back where you started
- upgrade your TSP software while you are at it.
- Run DiRT before you start. Another set of backup files for your database.
good luck!

hi tcatlinins & all,
thank you for your reply .
1.) Anyone have any summary steps for that?
2.) Permission wizard will need to run before upgrade right?
3.) We can't find the upgrade file at cisco.com . Any nice link recommendation?
thanks.

You need to have a CCO account linked to your SmartNet contract. If you do not have a Service Contract (smartnet) then you will need to call your local Cisco Sales Manager or SE to help set you up. If you do have access, you will find these files in the "Legacy" files under Unity. Kind of like a timemachine going back to the days.
It does not hurt to rerun the permissions wizard for every upgrade, even if it's small like this one.
If you download all the files for which ever upgrade, it will unzip to what a CD/DVD would like to install. Find the CU install file (I think it's called something like) It's basically a script file that start the process. Its just like starting from scratch. Unity Setup will just upgrade the files, not replace everything from scratch. The setup looks like a new setup, but will just upgrade.

Well, you may have to go to 4.0.5SR1 then. I don't see the 4.03 cd's in the downloads.
Log into CCO
Go voice software
Unity 4.0
Images of Unity CDs
Those are your downloads. SOme you do not need, depends on your country code, etc. So skip 4.03 and just go 4.05 if you like. I would however, just upgrade everything to 4.2 if you are going to do all this work. There are AD schema updates, Exchange updates, but it works alot smoother and has some added features.
If you are stuck on 4.03, contact TAC to find the software.
Cheers
