Can someone please help me, and tell me how to upgrade from 3PCC to CUCM firmware, or if it is even possible?  I tried to put in the correct load name and restart the TFTP with no luck.

Thank you,

John

Fixed the issue.  Below are the instructions that I found, HOWEVER do not unzip the downloaded file.

Chances are you are hanging on to that old server info.

I would start with this:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/8800-series/english/adminguide/P881_BK_C136782F_00_cisco-ip-phone-8800_series/P881_BK_C136782F_00_cisco-ip-phone-8811-8841_chapter_01111.html

If you are still having trouble check the network settings on the device and verify it is grabbing an IP and has the correct tftp server ip's etc.

Hi,

Thanks for the response, unfortunately the server info is not the issue.  It will not accept the tftp transfer, just says update fail with an unknown error.

Someone posted the whole procedure they followed to do what you're asking in a thread at CSC, have you tried searching for previous related threads?

Hi,

Thanks for responding; I was able to find the how to, but the phone keeps failing the upgrade.  I have even tried a standalone tftp directly to the phone and it just fails, with an unknown error.

Thanks

Hi,
What do you mean "HOWEVER do not unzip the downloaded file"? Can you explain?

This actually did not work. Talking to the Cisco; they said it’s completely different and not possible to change this firmware. After days or trying and talking with Cisco I just gave up on it. Please let me know if you find a solution.

I know this is an old thread but is this still not possible?

Thanks,

Joe
