Upgrade CM5.1(3) ES1106 to ES5101 Failure

Hi All,

I tried upgrade CM5.1(3)ES1106 to ES5101 get error message. The CM is build on VMWare.

Actually, I had tested this task with end user's data several months ago, it was successfully. The same was taken under VMWare mechine.

If I don't restore user's data in the VMWare, it is successful from Es1106 to ES5101.

I also tried upgrade it from ES1106 to ES7101, the same error message received.

The harddisk of the VMware is large enough to handle this upgrade, it have 90G space for testing. I had purged up the CDR records before apply the ES path.

The error message are listed below:

07/06/2009 12:05:38 installdb|--- --- --- Begin Performing Post-Copy Updates And Additions To Target DB (Step 2 of 2)|<LVL::Info>

07/06/2009 12:05:38 installdb|--- --- --- End -- Transforming source database to target database. For large databases this could take several hours.

Hi,

So if I understand this correctly, you have a CUCM server on VMWare. You have restored your customer's backup on the CUCM on VMWare. And are now trying to upgrade it but the upgrade fails, correct?

If that is so, make sure that after you restore the backup, you install locale files if any that the customer might have installed. The backup process does not get the locale files. Do the same for device packs as well.

If all that is fine and still upgrade fails, will need to review the full upgrade logs.

Thanks,

Hi Paritosh,

Yes, it is correct. Thanks for your information, I'll check it on check!

But I had done this task at the end of 2008, it was successful.

I have the upgrade log. Do you want me upload it for analysis?

Regards,

Michael.
