Hi Guys
Is it possible to upgrade a CUCM version 6 to a version 9?
Or do I need a complete infrastructure upgrade? I know these would use different servers, version 6 on the MCS platform and 9 is on UCS platform.
Many thanks

There's an FAQ that shows on top of the main page and within it, a telephony FAQ which covers upgrades.
You need to review the SW compatibility table (which is in the FAQ as well)
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/compat/ccmcompmatr1.pdf
Whether you need a complete infrastructure upgrade or not, no one can tell you if you don't mention what you have.
With the above links, you can answer that question after reviewing them.

1 X UNITY 5.0 - MCS-7835H1-ECS1
1 X UCCX 5.0 - MCS-7835H-3000
and and this is supporting 400 users or so? they want to add a further 400 userd and also use the latest 7942 as well as 7965 phones. they also want to the CCX licenses and upgrading to the latest SW version
