The answer is NO, your hardware as it is wont be supported. You need a minimum of 4GB of Ram...and 160GB of Hard drive..

Platform

Memory Requirement for Connection 9.x

Hard Disk Requirement for Connection 9.x

Cisco MCS 7825

All MCS 7825 servers must contain 4 GB of RAM.

All MCS 7825 servers must contain two hard disks that are the same size and that are at least 160 GB each

There are toher things you need to consider also. This is a refrsh upgrade, hence you need to be adequately prepared. look at the link below

Your best bet is to do this during a maintenance window. You are going to have a downtime of over 2hours. A refresh upgrade is like doing a new install..It takes a long time.

Ensure you take a backup of your existing cluster.

Do it on a Saturday or a Sunday..

Hi Amit,

Please refer this link for Hardware compatibility of MCS servers for Cal manager.

Since this is a major upgrade, you need to order Software through UCSS.Thereafter, u can get Codes to get license through E-delivery.

Hardware would require major change intrems of DRAM and HDD.

Since the new version would get loaded onto Inactive Version, Rollback is possible. Before u proceed for upgradation, please check upgrade path for Software as well.

regds,

Thanks Aokanlawon,

I am upgrading RAM of my current system and i wll upgrade the CUC v7.1 to CUC v9.1 as per your previous mail,

Now i just want some more clearance regarding my incoming and out going calls are gonig to offline while doing the upgrade of CUC v7.1 to CUC v9.1

As per my understanding it will deffinetly affect the all users phones as per below points

1. Because if we look in to the current setup at company place, for example, if i do the call from out side to inside my company it will first play the greetings "WELCOME TO FORTUNE NETWORK LTD" and etc,,,, after this it will ask for the EXTENTION number if you wish to speak with anybudy inside the company from outside of the company,,as per this setup you have to have dial the extention number unless or untill it will not possible.

2. I have only the single CUC v7.1 not in the cluster and secondary option for it.

3. Can anybudy assist alternet option with i may be get interrupt with CUC functionality(voicemail) only, and i can able to do call outside to inside and vice versa.

4. How it will possible with minimum down time ? because as per my current setup i am not able to see any way to get this complite in minimum down time,

I really apriciate the support if some one assist the same....

if you guys want more information on my current setup please you all are requisted to ask any time..

Thanks for your instant reply,

I got the point Aokanlawon,

I can not stop the phones calls while doing the upgrade, Because  the dependansy is we are the company supporting 24*7 and uptime would be 99.9 %.  (Even saturday and sunday)

We have only 1 CUC server in the existing setup not secondary neither cluster setup, now in this type of scenario how can we change the incoming and outgoing calls path?

so, I can prevent the maximum calls interrupt while doing activity,

Can you please assist any alternate way so, i will finish it without or very less down time?

Thanks & Regards,

AMIT THAKKAR
