Upgrading CUCM and Unity 8.6 to 12.0

Dear All,

We are planning for upgrading CUCM and CUC from version 8.6 to 12.0. We are already in virtual environment .We are upgrading to new hardware we like to upgrade and migrate to new version. Can i use the PCD for this process. I am going with SAME IP address . Will cop files will get deleted or not?

Hi Siva,

As per the below link, you can use PCD for CUCM but not for unity connection.

You need to do a manual refresh upgrade (RU)

Depending on your maintenance window, you could either do a Refresh Upgrade or something like COBRAS/Message Shuttle for Unity.

I never used to COBRAS TOOL . Can u send me the procedure to do it.

Why can we restore the backup?

The same place you're going to download COBRAS from, has all the help files, and I believe they also have videos for it.

A backup can only be restored on the EXACT SAME release from which it was taken.
