URI Dialling

Hi Guys,

I'm having some problems and hope you can help.

When I dial 19710@domin.com it works but when I dial first.last@domain.com it doesn't work

I've checked the SIP profile to allow dial string interpretation with no luck

I've also ticked the "Use FQDN in SIP requests" with no luck

Any help would be appreciated

Cameron

Yes, you need to enable URI dialing, and the DirectoryURI field is to adjust the mapping, that one is up to you, and your deployment.

Cam,

the only line that I added to get URI dialing to work from Jabber is:

<EnableSIPURIDialling>True</EnableSIPURIDialling>

If you are saying when you put in first.last@domain.com into Jabber and the "green phone icon" does not appear, that your issue is most likely with Jabber.

Can you double check your jabber config file by going to:

http://<tftp Cucm IP address goes here>:6970/jabber-config.xml

and verify that SIP Uri dialing is indeed in there.

I'm assuming this is CUCM, as you don't mention what you use

And have you configured first.last@domain.com in your CUCM???

If you go to your route plan report, can you find it???

What troubleshooting have you done???

Hi Jaime,

Thanks for the fast response

CUCM 10.5

I have configured the uri under the DN

Its not present in the route plan report

as to troubleshooting I have tried many things -

Changing the SIP pattern

changing the SIP profile

When I enter first.last@domain.com into Jabber it doesn't even give me the option to dial

It SHOULD show up in the route plan report if it was properly configured

And not sure what the last thing you mentioned has anything to do, if you think that jabber somehow goes to CUCM and since it cannot find that URI, you don't get the option to call, no, it doesn't, you should get the option to dial anything you want. If you're not getting the option to call, that's a whole other problem.

Pretty much as a phone when you dial on-hook, you can dial whatever you want, once you send the digits, you find out whether your call hit something, or not.

Update, the phone now works with a speed dial but jabber will not allow my to enter

first.last@domain.com

The green dial button doesn't illuminate when a uri is entered

Do I need to update the jabberlocalconfig.xml with -

<EnableSIPUriDialling>true</EnableSIPUriDialling>
<DirectoryURI>mail</DirectoryURI>

Hi Jamie,

Issue was found in the jabber-config.xml file.

Just need to add the "EnableSIPUriDialling" and it worked

Thanks for your help
