Hi There

I hope you are well.

I have a CUCM 8.6 PBX as my main PBX with about 10 PRI's. I have setup a SIP trunk between it and a FreePBX VM for IVR functionality. I have managed to get all this to work, but now I would like to get the extensions I have setup on FreePBX to be able to dial out through the CUCM. Where do I start with that?

Please bear with me as I am new to CISCO voice.

Kind Regards
Brad

You need to create a SIP trunk in FreePBX to point to CUCM. This should route all external calls. From their CUCM will take the calls and route them out of PSTN using the exiting dialplan.

Make sure that incoming trunk on CUCM is having CSS to access your dialplan. Also, make sure to format the calling and called numbers correctly using globalization/localization.

Hi Mohammed

Thanks for your reply.

So what you are saying is should create a second trunk between CUCM and FreePBX and route all external traffic through that trunk. Then have a CSS which allows for outbound dialing?

That's correct. I think this is what you are looking for which is sending all PSTN calls out of CUCM.
