Using a ATA to get dial up internet access

Don't ask me why but I have been asked to configure a Cisco ATA so that my end user can plug their dial up modem into it and dial up the internet.

When I attempt the call I can see that Fax passthrough sees it as a data call and uses the g711 codec.

But I get an 678 error.

By any chance has any one tried this and got it to work.

Any help would be great.

It's a bad idea, and very unlikely to work at any decent modem spped.

It's not like "modem relay" was invented for no reason.
