Hi,
Would like to ask some help on troubleshooting our issue with very long calls in pstn. This is happening over a year now. Our current Telco bills us for calls that lasted from 25 to 58 hours for each calls which for a normal point of view is impossible as we;re not a call center environment. They presented each call in the billing with caller ID as the BTN only. Our PRIs will need to be upgraded (additional costs) if we want to our calls to be filtered by the actual caller ID. We are suspecting calls are hanged on the gateway.
setup is: CUCM > MGCP Gateway > ISDN Pri > Telco
We triple checked our CDR but no sign of calls more than 13 hours duration. this matches our max-call duration timer in the enterprise parameters.
I noticed the below logs on the gateway that seems to shows call that is more than 13 hours;

The inaccuracy can be due to using MGCP, that is a buggy and unreliable protocol. You switch to H.323, or update and play around with configuration.
Howver, even telco has responsability, because when a call is hang up on the other side, it disconnects on you PRI side too, no matter the protocol being used.

Thanks Paolo, Appreciate your response as i'm really out of idea right now..i've been trying to find out how to nail down the root cause plus the pressure of charges we're going to pay... i couldn't hope less been a month pushing our Telco to investigate but seems no luck..

Yes, telcos doesn't really care about these cases. even if it is agaisnt any logic, you can pay, or pay.
They may change attitude with a laywer's letter.
