VG224 and CME

This is the first time getting VG224 to work with CME.

I read the doc on it and have created ephone-dn's for each of the ports. I have also configured ephone x, but for the MAC address do you do the same as it would be seen within CCM of 001A61CA5EC2, but remove the first 2 characters and add to the end of the port.

1A61CA5EC201 for port 1, and so on?

Would it be better to run in SCCP or H323 for connecting faxes to it?

Thanks in advance

For faxes my recommendation will be H323 since it its fully tested.

SCCP can work but you may encountered some problems.

Thanks for the response, but is how I set it up in CME the correct way?

I assume that you put dial-peers on the VG to point to CME and on CME put voip dial-peers for the fax numbers to point the the VG?

VG

dial-peer voice 100 voip

destination-pattern 9T

session target ipv4:CME IP ADDRESS

codec G711ulaw

no vad

modem passthrough nse codec g711ulaw

fax rate disable

dial-peer voice 101 voip

incoming-called number (extension range)

CME

dial-peer voice 100 voip

destination-pattern (extension range)

session-target ipv4:(VG IP Address)

modem passthrough nse codec g711ulaw

fax rate disable

no vad

g711ulaw
