VG224 - Calling issues : VMWI_DSP_SETUP

Dear All,

We have implemented a few VG224 in an Hotel environment and have experienced the following issue :

At times, no tones are heard on some analog phones.

The show stcapp device summary shows that the concerned voice port is in VMWI_DSP_SETUP calling state.

A shut / no shut resolves the issue.

We would like to know what could cause the calling state stuck in VMWI_DSP_SETUP and how to fix it permanently.

whats the IOS you are running, Suggest you to upgrade the ios looks like a bug.

The IOS version is "slot0:vg224-i6k9s-mz.151-4.M5.bin"

We have one of the latest IOS on the VG.

We might try to upgrade to the latest IOS vg224-i6k9s-mz.151-4.M7.bin and monitor.

Here is a explaination for th issue, are you using MWI for ther analog phones connected to the VG224?

The following lines show the gateway receiving messages from Cisco Unified Communications Manager to activate the VMWI lamp.

Hi Kevin,

Yes, MWI messages are sent from CUCM to the analog phones.

The issue is surely related to MWI where the call state remains stuck on VMWI_DSP_SETUP.

We will investigate deeper in this direction and update this case with our findings ASAP.
