How many PVDM bundled with VG310? From CCW, I can add VWIC3 T1/E1 module but there is no option for upgrading or adding PVDM. I concern that if I add a 2 ports E1 module. Does it has sufficient PVDM to work?
To configure the PVDM3 Module on your Cisco VG310 or Cisco VG320 series voice gateway router, you must have Cisco IOS Release 15.4(3)M or a later release installed.
Each PVDM3 DSP card can hold up to two devices, and each device can hold up to three DSP cores. The host recognizes each DSP card as one individual DSP and each physical DSP as a device. This virtual DSP concept provides a maximum of six DSPs per PVDM3.
If a VWIC3 T1/E1 module is installed is it actually usable for calls?
The Q&A document for the VG350 which is based upon the ISR 3945 has the following data:
Q. Do the Enhanced High-Speed WAN Interface Card (EHWIC) slots of VG350 support any modules?
A. Yes, the EHWIC slots of VG350 support VIC2-2FXO, VIC2-4FXO, VIC3-2FXS, VIC3-2FXS-E/DID and VIC3-4FXS/DID analog voice cards for additional capacity. VG350 EHWIC slots also support VWIC3 T1/E1 cards for clock synchronization.
This implies the T1/E1 interfaces cannot be used for calls. Does this restriction also apply to the VG310 which is based upon the ISR 2901?
