We are running CUCM 10.5 and are replacing our 7962 phones with 8841s. The phones work fin, except I am unable to get visual voicemail to work on the new phones. Has anyone been able to get this to work?

Hi Bernece,
I'm guessing the issue relates to this bug;
Symptom:
Documentation : "VVM client on 88xx is not supported as a midlet"
Conditions:
Document needs to be updated specifying a note that "VVM client on 88xx is not supported as a midlet"
Visual Voicemail is supported on 8861 phone but not as a midlet.
In order to use VVM, it is required to create additional service and subscribe it to the phone instead of Visual Voicemail service used on other phones.
Workaround:
None

So there is not other way to configure VVM other hand with a midlet?

I know this post is a bit old, but I was sort of able to get Visual Voicemail working on an 8851 phone. I can see the messages from the phone but can not get the voicemail to play. I am hoping someone can help me with that.
To configure Visual Voicemail for 8851 (assuming it will work with 8841 as well) go to DEVICE>DEVICE SETTINGS>PHONE SERVICES. Click ADD NEW
Service Name: VisualVoicemail
Service Description: XML Version of Visual Voicemail
Service URL: Application:Cisco/VisualVoiceMail
Service Category: XML Service
Service Type: Messages
Service Vendor: Cisco
Parameters:
Parameter Name: call_connect_delay
Parameter Display Name: Call Connect Delay
Default Value: 1000
Parameter Description Call Connect Display
Parameter Name: log_level
Parmeter Display Name: Log Level
Default Value: info
Parameter Description: Level of Logging
Parameter Name: voicemail_server
Parameter Display Name: Voicemail Server
Default Value: IP of the CUC Server
Parameter Description: IP of the CUC Sever.

Hi all,
our VisualVoiceMail works with 8841.
Just configure like described in the manuals I posted before.
TAC found that the route pattern to the Visual Voicemail Reverse TRAP was not Urgent Priority! We just had to change it.
