Hi,
i am starter to VOIP.
we have a core swich and few access switches connected to it. THe phones are daisy chained with the PC's on the access switch
pc ------> phone -----------> switch
pc is a different subnet and phone is a different subnet
so the config on access switch:
int fas0/21
switchport mode access
switchport access vlan 20
switchport voice vlan 30
is the above correct ?
also the on the core switch, how do i create a voice vlan (access switch and core switch are trunked)
is it just ?
vlan 30
name voice
Thanks

so if i do
vlan 30
name voice
this is just normal vlan isnt it? its not voice vlan...
so how will the access switches understnad if
switchport mode access voce vl103
as the above vlan on the core swtich is just a normal vlan

Hi,
On the access port we enter switch port voice vlan XXX, so that switch can give voice vlan info with the help OF CDP.
But vlan is a vlan to seprate the diffrent Kind of traffic.
