Dears,

I have installed a new switch for IP phone the configuration I put to ports ( switchport voice vlan 1 ) but the phone still shows a message verify your network connection, and when I change the configuration to ( switchport access VLAN 1 ) the phone it working fine

- can you tell me it is okay that configuration I used? If I installed more phones in the future will impact call quality?

Thanks

What switch and what phone model?

Do you have proper DHCP scope for your VLAN #?

Why would you specify voice VLAN 1 if that is your data VLAN? Voice VLAN should be different from access VLAN as that is the purpose.

Dear chris thanks for your reply

Vlan 1 for voice and vlan 2 for data it’s Separate vlan
Switch 3850 and phone model 8865

Can you please post part of your configuration on the switch?

It is strongly suggested not to use Vlan 1 as Voice Vlan and always differentiate access and voice vlan
