VWIC3 - straight cable, RJ48C, or both?

Hello there,

In the past i wroked with VWIC1 or 2, and i had the habit to uses RJ48 pinout only to bind telco access point to the Cisco's voice card (as wrote down here).

Today, i had to play with a VWIC3, and my fellows told me that i don't have to use RJ48, straight RJ45 will be sufficient...

  • is that true?
  • Where can I find official documentation?
  • Is a RJ48C could work too on VWIC3?
  • For previous VWIC, is the straight RJ45 could work too?

Thx again!

Greg

Greg,

I have always used straight through RJ45 and it works. Never used RJ48

Hi Greg,

You need to use 1,2 and 4,5 pin on the RJ-45 connector.Your controller should come UP.In case,if it does not come UP,swap the Tx and Rx pairs on either side.
