Hi Cisco techs,

After all the reading I have done on this topic.

The one issue that isnt conclusive is whether to install CME first on the router or install firmware/software for phones first?

Or doesnt this matter?

You install the call control agent CME/CUCM, configure the phones, and then plug them so they register and download the FW/configuration.

Hi Mr Valencia,

Thanks for your reply.

When I go to install a 70mb CME via tftp32..router displays permission denied. after issuing command..

archive /xtract tftp://ipadress/filename.tar flash:

Logged in using admin level 15 on router

Any ideas please?

Thanks Mr Valencia for that.

One more question if I can please?

When I go to install a 70mb CME via tftp32..router displays permission denied. after issuing command..

archive tar /xtract tftp://ipadress/filename.tar flash:

Logged in using admin level 15 on router

Do you have exposure to the above please?

In fact, phones come with a factory preinstalled firmware. So, as Jaime said, you install/configure CME, plug the phones and they will work.

Later, if you wish, you can install the latest firmware in CME and upgrade the phones.

- Adrian.
