when to use VG350 essential licenses

Hello everyone

I would really appreciate any clarity on a licensing question for the VG350 analog gateway

We are purchasing a VG350 to integrate into an BE 6000 version 8.6 environment. I have over 800 DLU's available and we have tested adding a VG240 to lab with same server version. No DLU's are consumed when we add the gateway and configure the analog FXS ports and setup as a MGCP gateway. I see an essentials license in the ordering guide and want to know when is this license required and do I need to purchase the license for my clients new VG350 requirement?

Just a note unrelate to your question.

For best consistency and features, configure analog FXS gatways as SCCP, not MGCP.

what if i am going VG350-144FXS with MGCP configuration? is it required to add CUL essential license for each analog port such as the ATA?

Hi Shakeeb,

you need to have UCL essential license for each analog device connected to VG350.
