¿am I wasting DSP resources by not using that "phantom" card?

I am using that DSP for the following configuration.

2 E1 DS0 voice link configuration (60) channels.

dspfarm profile 1 transcode

codec g729r8

codec g729br8

codec g711ulaw

codec g711alaw

codec g729ar8

codec g729abr8

maximum sessions 8

associate application SCCP

!

dspfarm profile 2 conference

codec g711ulaw

codec g711alaw

codec g729ar8

codec g729abr8

codec g729r8

codec g729br8

maximum sessions 4

associate application SCCP

!

What I meant to ask you, is...

do I only have 1 DSP card?

do that DSP card is the only card I need to perfectly fit my configuration?

I've read about DSP, but I only know fundamentals. I do not know very much the meaning on my router configuration. I just had a router with a similar configuration, copy/pasted it, and then in works.

Regards,

Blank NM-HD-2VE card in slot 1 via an adapter is what creates the dsp voice card, though there are not PVDMs in it, so no need to worry about it.

Your High Density Voice Card has PVDM's on it.  They are most likely PVDM2's and you'll have some limitations using them in the same pool as your PVDM3's.

EDIT: Read through your inventory too fast.  If you had PVDMs on your module, they woulod be PVDM2's.

On the DSP side of things, you have a PVDM3-192. This PVDM has a total of 5 dsps in it. It is a combination of a single PVDM3-128 and PVDM3-64.

Each PVDM3-128 has 3 dsps and each PVDM3-64 has 2 dsps..Hence giving you a total of 5 dsps..

You can read more on PVDM2 and PVDM3 credit allocations here..

Hi Cris, I didn't realize I had a Voice Card withput DSP, I didnt realice a NM could create a "Voice Card conf" even without a PVDM on it.

Well that was what I understood, also i'll check the links posted on this thread.

Thank you all of you for your time, your help is very useful.

regards.
