EIGRP for IPv4 need to match the subnet mask ,K value , AS number, MTU between routers for forming neighbor relationship .

however I saw the question like follwing

Q.How will EIGRPv6 react if there is an IPv6 subnet mask mismatch between the Global Unicast addresses on a poin-to-point link ?

the answer is that EIGRPv6 will form a neighbor relationship .

so I wanna know the neighboring about EIGRPv6 .

Neighboring relationship on EIGRPv6 routers , What factor do i need to match ?

Hello,

Just like add to that-

  • On serial interfaces the link-local dressing & map statements are required
  • Eigrp process -
  1. no automatic summarisation ( no auto-summary command)" as eigrpv6 doesn't support classless networks
  2. implict shutdown ( requires no shutdown command)
  3. requires router id's

Hi,

IPv6 IGPs form neighborships with the link-local address so they don't care about the global unicast address mismatch.

Apart from that AS, K values and authentication must match to form a neighborship like in IPv4.

Regards.

Hi,

just to add something:

2. not anymore on latest IOS.

3. yes if you have no IPv4 address on the device then you'll have to specify a router-id

Alain
