Prefix delegation state in SOLICIT

When i want to turn on prefix delegation on my router the prefix state stays in Prefix State is SOLICIT instead of OPEN.

GigabitEthernet0/0/0 is in client mode
    Prefix State is SOLICIT (3)
    Retransmission timer expires in 00:00:03
    Address State is IDLE
    Prefix Rapid-Commit: disabled
    Address Rapid-Commit: disabled

Commands:

(config-if)#ipv6 enable
(config-if)#ipv6 address autoconfig default
(config-if)#ipv6 dhcp client pd FROM-ISP

Hi @Rottot ,

It looks like you are not receiving any dhcpv6 messages back from your provider. Are you certain they offer dhcpv6 at all?

Can you try getting a dhcpv6 address from them by configuring the following command:

int xxx

ipv6 address dhcp rapid-commit

The interface has received an ipv6 address via dhcpv6. Also I tried to configure prefix delegation with the exact same commands 2 weeks ago. Back then everything worked fine but now it switched to SOLICIT.

If that was working 2 weeks ago and not working now with the exact same config, I would suggest you reach out to your service provider to see if they can help.
