Hello Community,
Can someone please direct me to where I can find a detailed document that talks about how the assent protocol works?
Many Thanks
I guess this proves the extent to which Cisco is providing quality information that will actually help us in the support-world to support Cisco's products.
This is becoming a trend.
Serenity,
You will not find any detailed information on the Assent protocol, it's a proprietary protocol... If they released that information then Polycom & LifeSize would have a field day

Hi Justin,
I see your point but I don't think my request is unreasonable. Maybe other competiors might have a field day- but I'm not so sure about that becuase the ITU standard of H.460-18/-19 is based on Assent. Competitor already have the framework to build . I'm just asking Cisco to stop turnning People who are truely seeking to know this stuff in order to support it the product from become 'Monkey see, monkey do' people. Its not nice.
Lack of information can only mean stress for a support Engineer when clients and internal team members start chasing.
Dont think I've asked for too. Much. CWMS is another example.I am yet for find out how to read the traces but there is a troubleshooting guide that basically goes along the lines of ' if you see this, do this' :not nice.
