We have some exciting news here! The Cisco DevNet Women-In-Tech Community is bringing the first-ever Personalized Professional Mentoring for Women to Cisco Live, Las Vegas, 2016.
Cisco DevNet Women-In-Tech community aims to make it easier for women to learn, code and build software and technology innovations, and do so in a supportive environment. As part of this initiative, DevNet Women-In-Tech community is excited to bring Personalized Professional Mentoring sessions for the first time to Cisco Live in Las Vegas.
The benefits of being mentored are undeniable, especially for women, and more so for women in the technical field. Since there are not many women in the fields of technology and software, being able to converse with someone who has traversed the path is immensely helpful in understanding the terrain, and gaining exposure to possibilities about careers and roles. Research shows that women with a mentor are 56 percent more likely than women without a mentor to get their first post-MBA job at mid-management or above. Surely, the salient points of this research can be extrapolated to other non-management programs as well.
Mentoring, in general, provides one-of-a kind opportunity for collaboration, goal achievement and problem solving. With this in mind, the Cisco DevNet Women in Tech community has decided to solicit the time and expertise of Senior Cisco women employees as mentors for providing personalized professional mentoring at Cisco Live.
So, if you are looking for advice, direction, or feedback face-to-face, be sure to take advantage of this unique opportunity!
